A boring machine in which the spindle is horizontally arranged and the headstock can move vertically along the front column guide. In the case of horizontal boring machines, the tool is mounted on a spindle, boring bar or flat plate, and the required speeds and feeds can be obtained through the headstock and can be moved up and down along the guide rail of the front column with the headstock. The workpiece is installed on the workbench, and the workbench can move longitudinally and horizontally with the slide seat and the upper slide, and can also rotate to the required angle around the circular guide rail of the upper slide to adapt to various processing situations. When the boring bar is long, one end of the tail stock on the rear column can be used to support it to increase the stiffness. In order to process the workpiece with a large hole spacing or a long box, some horizontal boring machines increase the transverse stroke of the worktable by about two times, and increase the rigidity of the slide seat by increasing the width of the main rail of the bed and the method of providing an auxiliary guide rail.
